In case you missed it, HubSpot acquired PieSync, an innovative company that offers two-way data sync technology, in 2019. Since then, the duo has worked together to implement PieSync into the HubSpot tech stack. During this time, consumers could purchase integrations and work with PieSync, directly.
Things will look a little differently now, however. PieSync will live inside HubSpot’s Operations Hub as a feature known as “data sync.” That means that PieSync as a stand-alone product will reach end-of-life on December 31, 2021. No new customers were permitted to buy PieSync stand-alone services as of April 21, 2021.
Currently, data sync comes with a selection case of pre-built apps, with new integrations being added consistently. Still, your app or integration could be discontinued for some time before it makes its way to Operations Hub.
If you find yourself in this situation, don’t panic. There are solutions. Keep reading for a look at what is available with data sync, what isn’t, and how you can keep your integration moving along.
First and foremost, here’s how HubSpot defines data sync: “Data sync by HubSpot packs all the punch of a custom-built connector — two-way sync, custom field mappings, filtering, historical syncing — in an easy, code-free package.”
In other words, data sync combines the power of HubSpot with another system. As of June 2021, there are 41 available systems you can connect HubSpot to using data sync. You can browse the full list here, but some notables ones include:
Data Sync is still fairly new and growing, but even still, it’s limited in comparison to what PieSync offered. Here’s a look at some of the biggest integrations not currently available with data sync (but could be in the future):
The list of currently unavailable data sync integrations could go on. If you don’t see yours above and want to know for sure if PieSync is discontinuing your integration, consider these following steps:
Should you opt to work with us on a custom integration or app, you’ll work with our “managed services” team. Here’s what that looks like:
If you’re at all concerned about your PieSync integration going away, don’t be. You’ll likely either be able to keep it going using Operations Hub data sync or by working with the SyncSmart team. Either way, there’s no need to stress. Just remember to keep the upcoming end-of-life deadline of December 31, 2021, in mind.
